What is a Naturopath?

A person who specializes in wellness.  There is NO diagnosing or treatment (reserved for Western Medicine) as a person begins his or her path to becoming well.  A Naturopath recognizes that the majority of symptoms are cumulative, and the root cause always needs to be addressed.  The main root causes to be looked at are:  Hydration (water), Fuel (diet), Cleanse (getting the colon rollin’), Repair (sleep), Physical (exercise, lymphatic stimulation), Mental (release negative thoughts), Spiritual (finding true purpose), and getting the four channels of elimination to flow..colon, kidneys, lungs, skin.  These are the 7 Steps to Vibrant Body Health that once put into practice, will benefit EVERYONE.  Classic Naturopathy is not considered practicing medicine, and is legal in all 50 states.  Naturopathic physicians, whose schools are funded by the pharmaceutical arena, are completely different, as they can perform minor surgeries and can prescribe certain pharmaceuticals.

The body wants to be well, and has the ability to heal on it’s own.  The correct ingredients are necessary to establish balance or homeostasis within the cells.  Disease is an imbalance of the cells, and the body doing it’s best to create balance.  The word ‘disease’ used in Western Medicine is more useful in matching up with the antidote (pharmaceutical drug), rather than locate WHY the imbalance, which led to dis ease began in the first place!  Referring to the 7 steps will answer most of the bodies’ cries for balance.   The body will send out signals for a very long time before disease emerges.  The symptoms or signals that something is not right within the body is a weakening of the immune system to fight back.  If the symptoms are suppressed (pharmaceutical), the fact is, the underlying problem is still there.  Over time, the symptoms will not be quieted by suppression, and stronger drugs will need to be taken.  Eventually, disease will be evident.

Naturopathy looks at the structural, emotional, and nutritional aspects of the human body and attempts to identify the root cause, whether it be traumas from childhood, lack of hydration, or a spine in need of adjustment.  Once the imbalance is identified and corrected, balance begins to return to the body on all levels, structurally, mentally, and nutritionally.
